THE Professional Darts Corporation sends its condolences to the family of long-term player Jimmy O'Regan, who passed away last weekend.
The Irishman, who was based in London, had been a regular competitor in the PDC over the past decade, and had played darts for much of his life.
PDC Tournament Director Tommy Cox said: "I've known Jimmy for over 30 years and he was a real darts person.
"Even in his latter years the main passion in his life was darts, so much so that one weekend he travelled to Wigan on the train to play on Saturday, travelled home afterwards and then repeated the journey on the Sunday.
"He was a veteran County darts player and he loved the sport with a passion which lasted throughout his life.
"His last appearance was at Qualifying School in January and, poignantly, he had entered last weekend's UK Open Qualifiers in Crawley but never made it. We will miss him, he was one of the real characters of darts, and everybody knew him."
