KYLE ANDERSON secured his place in the Sydney Darts Masters as he won through Monday's Qualifier in Warilla, as Loz Ryder continued his superb form on the DPA Australian Grand Prix circuit.
Anderson, last year's DPA AGP number one, ensured that he will compete in the Sydney Darts Masters for a second successive year as he defeated New Zealand's Rob Szabo 5-3 in the final.
Anderson also overcame last week's Perth Darts Masters qualifier Justin Miles 5-0 in the semi-finals, and saw off Gordon Mathers, Robbie King, Damon Heta and Paul Lease on the day.
Monday's defeated players will get a second chance to win a place in this weekend's Sydney Darts Masters in the final Qualifier on Tuesday, which will also see another Australian Grand Prix event held.
Meanwhile, Perth's Loz Ryder extended his lead at the top of the DPA Australian Grand Prix Order of Merit as he won Monday's tournament in Warilla, as he avenged Sunday's defeat to Damon Heta in the DPA Australian Singles championship with a 6-4 win in the final.
The day also featured a nine-dart finish for David Platt during his semi-final against Heta, which he went on to lose 6-5.
Miles was a semi-final loser to Ryder, while Anderson was joined in reaching the quarter-finals by Craig Pullen, Jamie Rundle and John Weber.
