Christmas Wishes From The PDC

THE Professional Darts Corporation sends festive wishes to players, fans, sponsors and partners worldwide.

With the William Hill World Darts Championship enjoying a three-day break for Christmas, the remaining 32 players' festive celebrations will accompanied by their preparations for the final stages of the sport's biggest tournament.

The World Championship resumes with the second round on Saturday, as the players return to London's Alexandra Palace to continue their battle to lift the Sid Waddell Trophy.

In addition, players worldwide will have one eye on the 2015 PDC Qualifying School, which will be held in January and allow any player to bid to win a PDC Tour Card to compete on the PDC circuit next year.

Following a hugely successful 2014 for the PDC, Chairman Barry Hearn said: "The Christmas break brings us a short time for reflection on a wonderful year and also to catch our breath following the opening week of the William Hill World Championship.

"Our worldwide growth has continued throughout 2014, and we've also seen some magnificent darts played in our events across the UK, Ireland and Europe - including nine-darters, emerging stars and record crowds.

"With another eight days of action to come at Alexandra Palace, there are sure to be more thrilling memories for the players competing in the event, the sell-out crowds we will welcome to the World Championship and the television viewers on the Sky Sports Darts channel and worldwide.

"Our 2015 calendar will be the busiest ever on the PDC circuit but will also give greater opportunities than ever for players through from the 16-year-olds who will step onto the PDC Unicorn Development Tour to those stars at the very top of the sport.

"We're all looking forward to next year, but the festive period gives everyone associated with the PDC the chance to celebrate Christmas, including the fans who support our events worldwide, the players and staff who deliver such brilliant tournaments and the sponsors, partners and broadcasters worldwide who support us.

"I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas."
