THE New Year will be welcomed in style on Thursday as 2015 kicks off with the start of the William Hill World Darts Championship quarter-finals at Alexandra Palace.
The race to be crowned as sport's first World Champion of 2015 continues from 7pm (UK time) on New Year's Day with the opening two quarter-final contests.
Reigning World Darts Champion Michael van Gerwen will open up Thursday's action as he takes on Scotland's Robert Thornton, the 2012 UK Open champion and a former Grand Slam of Darts finalist.
The night's second quarter-final then sees two further Scots collide as last year's beaten finalist at Alexandra Palace, Peter Wright, takes on 2011 runner-up Gary Anderson.

The quarter-finals conclude on Friday January 2, with Phil Taylor playing Vincent van der Voort and Stephen Bunting taking on Raymond van Barneveld.
The semi-finals will be held on Saturday January 3, with the final on Sunday January 4 - with all the action live on the Sky Sports Darts channel and the latest news here at www.pdc.tv!
