Towering Effort From Charity Partners!

THE PDC's official charity partners, the Donna Louise Children's Hospice, have raised almost £250,000 over the past week through their Tower To Tower rowing challenge.

A team of 26 volunteers - including comedians Hugh Dennis and Nick Hancock, West Bromwich Albion FC manager Tony Pulis and British Olympic rower Debbie Flood - have endured a week-long row from London's Tower Bridge, across The Channel and to Paris' Eiffel Tower.

The row began on Monday May 25 at St Catherine's Docks in the shadow of Tower Bridge, with the team heading down the River Thames and into the Thames Estuary.

Having then travelled around the British coastline to Eastbourne, the team then crossed The Channel to Le Havre - battling a Force Seven storm - and then rowed 200 miles up The Seine.

The row totalled around 460 nautical miles and concluded on Monday June 1 when the team arrived in Paris to celebrate at the Eiffel Tower.

At the time the team arrived in Paris, over £240,000 had been raised for the Donna Louise Children's Hospice - with that total growing by the minute due to online donations.
