Bridge & Mathers Share DPA Wins

CLINTON BRIDGE and Gordon Mathers shared victories as the DPA's Australian Pro Tour series visited the Gold Coast.

Melbourne-based left-hander Bridge (pictured) picked up his first DPA win of 2017 by defeating Mathers 6-4 in the final of Saturday's Event 13.

Bridge - a three-time World Series of Darts qualifier - also defeated Aaron Petty, Matt Leahy, Glenn Jones and Justin Thompson during the knockout phase of the event.

Mathers bounced back to go all the way to victory in Sunday's Event 14 as he followed up his double win in Perth last month with another title to extend his lead at the top of the DPA rankings.

Wins over Graeme Lowe, Steve Macarthur, Arthur Jones and Steve Duke Snr saw Mathers book his spot in the final, where he overcame PDC Unicorn World Youth Champion Corey Cadby 6-4.

Cadby bounced back from a last 32 exit in Saturday's event to go all the way to Sunday's final, and the youngster also won Friday's World Series of Darts Qualifier to open the weekend at the Mermaid Waters Hotel.
