Australian Open Information

THE Australian Open Players Championship will be held on Sunday August 22 as the culmination of a week of tournaments in New South Wales.

The £22,000 Players Championship tournament will be staged at the Revesby Workers Club on Sunday August 22, offering a £5,000 (approximately $8,500 AUD) prize to the winner.

The event, won by Paul Nicholson in 2009, sees PDPA members from around the world joined by stars of the DartPlayers Australia circuit and other players from across Australasia battling in the richest tournament Down Under.
PDPA members can enter for £80 via the PDC Online Entry System.

Any non-PDPA member not from the UK can enter direct into the main draw for $115 AUD or enter a qualifying tournament, which will be held in the evening of Friday August 20 and costs $40 to enter.

Entry to the Australian Open Players Championship closes at 12pm (BST) on Wednesday August 18 for PDPA members.

The Australian Open Players Championship will be preceded by four days of events in Revesby, which is located in the Western Suburbs of Sydney, with all events open to travelling PDPA members.

The Linddales Super Fours will be played on Wednesday August 18 and Thursday August 19, with entry costing $100 per four-player team.

A pair of DPA Australian Grand Prix events will be held on Friday August 20 and Saturday August 21, offering $1,000 to the winner on each day. Entry will cost $20 for DPA Tour Card holders and Revesby Dart Club members and $35 for non-members.

The week of events at Revesby will follow the 2010 Oceanic Masters, which is being held on August 14 & 15 at the Illawarra Yacht Club in Wollongong, NSW.

An Australia v New Zealand Test Match will be held on August 13, with the Illawarra Yacht Club Masters being held on August 14 to be followed by the Oceanic Masters Qualifiers.

A total of 16 players from the Oceanic Masters Qualifiers will win through to the main event on Sunday August 15, alongside the top ten from the Australian Grand Prix Order of Merit and six DPA invitations.

Entry to the Oceanic Masters Qualifiers is open to all players (including PDPA members), with $25 entry for DPA Tour Card holders and Illawarra Yacht Club's Dart Club members and $35 entry for all other players.
