Reyes Seals Ally Pally Spot

SPANISH player Cristo Reyes has won the Iberian Qualifier for the William Hill World Darts Championship, defeating Jose Rodriguez in Saturday's final.

The Iberian Qualifier saw 154 players from Spain, Gibraltar and Portugal travel to Avila to compete for a place in the World Championship's preliminary round.

Tenerife-born Reyes, who lives in La Laguna, defeated two former World Championship qualifiers, Carlos Rodriguez and and Julio Barbero, on his way to the semi-finals of the tournament.

The 27-year-old then edged past Antonio Jiminez 6-5 in the last four, before whitewashing Jose Rodriguez in the final to claim victory.

Galicia's Rodriguez had booked his place in the final with a narrow 6-5 semi-final defeat of Spanish World Cup ace Antonio Alcinas, denying the Mallorca ace a return to the Alexandra Palace stage.

Gibraltar's World Cup of Darts pairing of Dyson Parody and Dylan Duo suffered defeats in the last 32 of the event
