World Championship - European Qualifiers

DETAILS of the European Qualifiers for the William Hill World Darts Championship have been confirmed, with five players set to win through to compete at Alexandra Palace later this year.

The series of international qualifiers for the World Championship will see qualifiers from around the world enter at the preliminary round stage of the £1.25 million tournament, which begins on December 18.

Five players will come from a series of separate qualifying events across Europe which will either be staged or conclude in October and November.

Saturday October 25 sees players from Spain, Gibraltrar and Portugal able to compete in the Open Pro-Mundial PDC in Avila, with the winner progressing to compete in the World Championship.

November 22 will see two players secure their spots from the top eight play-offs of the Super League Germany and Super League Eastern Europe events, which have been played throughout 2014 in the respective areas.

The Super League Germany finals will be held at the Checkpoint Darmstadt, while the Super League Eastern Europe play-offs - which features players from Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Slovakia, Serbia, Macedonia, Bosnia, Poland and Romania - will be held at the Dartclub Eisenstadt in Austria.

November 15 will see the Central Europe Qualifier held at the Cafe Zaal d'n Beer in Rosmalen (www.dnbeer.nl/) for players from the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and France.

Entry costs €40 and can be made by contacting Thorsten.Brock@pdc-europe.tv. The entry deadline is November 13. The runner-up will receive entry to three European Tour Qualifiers in 2015.

Registration on November 15 will be 12pm-1pm, with play commencing at 2pm. All games will be the best of 11 legs.

November 23 will see the Southern Europe Qualifier held at the Kings Club, Via Progresso 14, 46047 Porto Mantovano, Mantova, Italy.

The Southern Europe Qualifier is open to players from Italy, Turkey, Greece, Andorra, San Marino, Malta and Monaco.

Entry costs €40 and can be made via fidart@fidart.it. The entry deadline is November 19. The runner-up will receive entry to three European Tour Qualifiers in 2015.

Registration on November 23 will be from 8-9am, with play commencing at 10am. All games will be the best of 11 legs.

The qualifiers will join a number of other international stars at Alexandra Palace in December, with New Zealand's Mark McGrath, Canada's Dave Richardson and South African Masters winner Nolan Arendse already having secured their spots in the World Championship.
