Anderson "Ready To Go" In Perth

KYLE ANDERSON admits he is "ready to go" as he prepares to take to the oche on his home stage at the TABtouch Perth Darts Masters.

The Australian star, alongside brother Beau, will head the challenge of local Perth-based players in the country's biggest ever darts event this weekend, with sell-out crowds set to pack the Challenge Stadium from Friday-Sunday.

Kyle has drawn World Champion Michael van Gerwen for his first round game on Friday, but is eager to show his experience in his home city after spending the past seven months on the PDC circuit since winning a Tour Card in January.

"I feel I'm in good form, I've pretty much proved that I can hang with it whilst I've been over in England," said Anderson, who will be cheered on by recent Commonwealth Games javelin gold medalist Kim Mickle, another Perth sporting star.

"I've come back and practised well with Beau and done a couple of exhibitions and I'm just finding my form back.

"Even before I was announced to be in the tournament I had people asking me for information, and I've been home for a month and a half now, and people have been saying that they're coming to watch me play. I'm ready to go!"

Anderson shot to fame during 2013, initially qualifying for the Sydney Darts Masters and then topping the DPA Australian Grand Prix rankings before hitting a memorable nine-dart finish on his debut at the World Championship.

Speaking of the nine-darter, against Terry Jenkins, Anderson reflected: "It's what you strive for when you first play.

"You always aim for that, and if you get it you're instantly known around the world. When it happened, my Facebook shut down for a couple of weeks!"
