The Professional Darts Corporation expresses its condolences to the family and friends of former player Mike Gregory, who passed away on Tuesday aged 65.
Gregory was a prominent player in the sport at the time of the formation of the World Darts Council, having reached the 1992 World Championship final, where he lost in a sudden-death leg to Phil Taylor.
Gregory was also a two-time World Masters runner-up during a career which began in the early 1980s and also saw him win two News of the World Championship titles.
He won the 1992 and 1993 UK Masters events - the first tournaments staged by the organisation - and also competed in PDC-ranked events in 1998 and 2001.
