Final Rileys Aces Seal UK Open Spots

THE remaining Rileys Amateur Qualifiers for the Coral UK Open Televised Finals have been confirmed, following the fourth weekend of knockouts across the UK.

A series of 32 knockout events have been staged in Rileys Sports Bars across the UK over the past month, with the winner of each event progressing to play in next month's Coral UK Open at the Butlins Minehead Resort.

The final weekend of action saw the remaining 15 qualifiers take place across the UK, with the second Rileys Wolverhampton Qualifier seeing Dean Stewart (pictured) win through to play in his fifth successive UK Open.

Hampshire's Paul Hogan, who previously competed in the inaugural UK Open back in 2003, won the Rileys Reading Qualifier to earn his return to the tournament, while Nigel Daniels came through the Rileys Nottingham knockout to qualify as an amateur for the second successive year.

Chris Mackie won through the Rileys Aberdeen Qualifier, while Michael Malone was the winner of the day's other Scottish knockout at Rileys Coatbridge, and Rhys Griffin - who played on the PDC Unicorn Youth Tour in 2012 - won through the Rileys Cardiff Qualifier.

Simon Stevenson was the Rileys Plymouth winner, Martin Stead edged out former PDC player Ian Jopling to win the Rileys Southampton knockout, Graham Dando won at Rileys Brighton and Jim Hill won through at Rileys Worcester.

Sunday saw Ben Burton win through to compete in a fourth UK Open, as he won through the Rileys South Benfleet knockout, while Sam Allen - a qualifier for the 2010 UK Open during a spell on the PDC circuit - won the Rileys Bristol Qualifier.

Rileys Norwich winner Jason Mold and Rileys Wigan winner David O'Brien both banished the memories of defeats in the final game of amateur qualifiers in previous years as they also won through, alongside Rileys Derby qualifier Mick Baker.
