Huge Demand For Rileys Spots

OVER 500 entries for the Rileys Amateur Qualifiers for the 2010 UK Open have already been made.

The Rileys Amateur Qualifiers will see non-PDPA members get the chance to win a place in June's UK Open at Bolton via a series of free-to-enter knockouts to be held in Rileys Darts Zones.

The knockouts will be held in two stages in April and May at 20 venues around the UK, with a total of 32 players eventually winning a spot in the UK Open.

After only a week since the Rileys Amateur Qualifiers were launched, over 500 budding stars have already entered for the event.

"We're delighted to have seen such interest in the Rileys Amateur Qualifiers already," said PDC Chief Executive Matt Porter.

"This shows the fantastic demand across the UK for grass roots darts and is a reflection of the popularity of the UK Open that so many players will attempt to qualify this year.

"The development of Rileys Darts Zones has been an excellent step forward in the past year and I'm sure all players will be impressed by the facilities on offer at the Rileys clubs."

Players have until March 31 to register their entry, either by going online to www.rileys.co.uk/ukopen or by visiting their local Rileys Darts Zone.

Entry to the tournament is free and players will be allowed to enter more than one qualifying event. At each qualifying event, players will compete in the preliminary rounds on April 10/11, with the last 32 from each event then returning for the Regional Finals at a later date to compete for the places in the UK Open televised finals.

Qualifiers will be held at the following Rileys venues:

Sunday April 11: Brighton, Cardiff, Croydon, Edinburgh, Hull, Liverpool, Norwich, Oxford, Solihull and Wolverhampton.
