SEVERAL international qualifying events will be staged for the PDC Unicorn Under-21 World Championship.
The inaugural PDC Unicorn Under-21 World Championship will be staged over the three stages, with initial qualifying events creating a Last 64, who will play down to the Final at the Barnsley Metrodome on Saturday November 6.
The Final will then take place on stage at the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship, with the winner taking a £10,000 prize and the finalists being invited to compete in the Grand Slam of Darts and also to play on the PDC ProTour in 2011.
The top eight eligible PDPA members at September 20 will be exempt to the Last 64 stage, where they will be joined by Rileys Qualifiers, from knockout events to be held in Rileys Darts Zones, and the International Qualifiers.
Mitchell Clegg will represent Australia in Barnsley after being the leading Under-21 player across a series of Australian Grand Prix events, while Martin Heneghan and David Coyne are the two Irish Qualifiers after they reached the final of the Irish Under-21 Matchplay Championship recently.
Two players will qualify from the PDC Europe Qualifier, which will be held in Nuland on Saturday September 18 at 8pm. Entry costs €20 and can be made via www.pdc-europe.net.
