THE 32-player field for the Bodog.com World Grand Prix has been confirmed, following the Players Championships in Nuland.
The Bodog.com World Grand Prix, unique for its double-start format, will be held from October 4-10 at the Citywest Hotel in Dublin as the stars battle for £350,000 in prize money, including £100,000 to the winner.
Reigning champion Phil Taylor will be the number one seed as he bids for a tenth World Grand Prix title, with his rivals in the world's top eight also seeded in the draw.
Raymond van Barneveld, the runner-up for the past two years, is the number two seed, while 2007 winner James Wade is seeded three, Mervyn King at four, two-time finalist Terry Jenkins five, debutant Simon Whitlock six, 2004 champion Colin Lloyd at seven and Ronnie Baxter seeded eighth.
Alongside the PDC's top 16 players, the remainder of the field is selected from the Players Championship Order of Merit, with the leading four players from Ireland or Northern Ireland being joined by the best 12 non-qualified stars.
Cappamore's William O'Connor will make his World Grand Prix debut as one of the four 'home' qualifiers, alongside Fermanagh's Brendan Dolan, Balbriggan's Mick McGowan and Donaghadee veteran John MaGowan, a quarter-finalist in 2005.
The Players Championship Order of Merit qualifiers are headed by Vincent van der Voort and Jamie Caven, although there was a dramatic twist to qualifying on Sunday.
Steve Farmer's win in the Dutch Players Championship jumped him up to £11,200 prize money, knocking Mark Webster from the final qualifying place in the process.
Webster finished just £50 behind Dennis Priestley, the Australian Open Players Championship winner last month who did not play in Nuland but narrowly held on to his spot.
The draw will be made at 10am (BST) on Tuesday September 21.
