2011 PDC Calendar Released

THE 2011 PDC Calendar has been announced, with over £5 million on offer for the sport's leading players across 128 days of darts action next year.

Prize funds in PDC ProTour events will increase to £35,000 per event following the introduction of the PDC Tour Card at the start of 2011.

Following the completion of the 2011 Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship on Monday January 3 and the PDC Awards Dinner the following night, the focus will turn to the Qualifying School for the PDC ProTour, which will be held from January 13-16 in Wigan.

The German Darts Championship will then take place from January 28-30 at the Gerry Weber Centre in Halle, Germany, to be followed by the Players Championship Finals, which will be held at the Doncaster Dome from February 3-6.

The PDC Premier League Darts will begin on February 10 and run for 15 consecutive Thursdays as eight top stars battle in the sport's biggest event, which will culminate on May 19 at Wembley Arena.

Tickets will go on sale in October, with Priority Sales for PDCtv Annual Subscribers being from October 4-10 and General Sale beginning on October 11.

The PDC ProTour will then begin later in February with a Players Championship double-header in Derby.

UK Open Qualifiers will be staged in four double-header weekends in 2011, with players needing to compete in a minimum of two events and earn the requisite prize money to qualify for June's UK Open Finals in Bolton.

PDC ProTour events in the UK will be held in four venues; the Moorways Leisure Centre in Derby, the Barnsley Metrodome, the K2 Centre in Crawley and at Wigan's Robin Park Tennis Centre.

European-based Players Championships will be held for the first time in Vienna, Austria, in May and at two new venues in October, Muelheim in Germany and Benidorm in Spain.

Venues in Gladbeck and Nuland will again host Players Championships, with London, Ontario, Canada also staging a weekend of events in August.
