THE 888.com Premier League Darts season reached its halfway point at The Brighton Centre last Thursday, with reigning champion Phil Taylor sitting two points clear at the top of the league table.
Taylor has won all six matches since an opening-night loss to Adrian Lewis at The O2, and in the process holds the highest overall average of the eight competitors in the Premier League, averaging 100.35 for his seven matches so far.
Taylor has also broken throw more times than any other player (20) and hit the joint-most 180s alongside Gary Anderson (28) in the opening weeks.
Second-placed Raymond van Barneveld has enjoyed a remarkable turnaround in the last 12 months, having found himself second-bottom at the same stage in 2010.
The Dutchman has won five out of his seven games, with his only defeat since the opening week coming when he met Thursday's opponent Phil Taylor in Exeter.
Van Barneveld has hit more ton-plus scores than any other player with 214, including nine finishes over 100, and broken throw on 18 occasions.
Three players have yet to win successive matches, with Terry Jenkins, Mark Webster and James Wade having won only two of their second games, although Jenkins also picked up a draw when he met Lewis last week - the only stalemate so far this season.
Interestingly, Webster has hit the least ton-plus scores overall, but his total of ten ton-plus checkouts is the league's highest, and includes a 170 finish which he hit alongside a 160 against Taylor in week two.
Van Barneveld has hit nine ton-plus finishes, with Lewis and Wade posting eight apiece so far - with the World Champion matching Webster's achievement in hitting the maximum checkout.
Van Barneveld's four ton-plus finishes against Simon Whitlock in week two, when he checked out 160, 156, 141 and 116, are the most by a player in one game this season.
Taylor has lost the least number of legs (28), with Wade's 52 the highest total so far in his five losses.
