DAVEY DODDS has won the Rileys Middlesbrough Qualifier to earn a place in the Speedy Hire UK Open.
Dodds defeated former qualifier Glen Durrant 3-1 in the final to complete a double-blow for the runner-up, who had been a quarter-finalist in Saturday's Hull Qualifier.
Dodds had defeated Terry Agar 3-1 in the semi-finals in Middlesbrough, and whitewashed Gary Hayes in the last eight.
Durrant's bid to return to Bolton had seen him overcome another former qualifier, Graham Usher, in the semis.
The Rileys Qualifiers are being held in 32 Rileys Darts Zones around the UK in April, giving amateur players the chance to win a spot alongside the top professionals at the Reebok Stadium from June 2-5.
