THE rewards for the 2011 PDC Unicorn Youth Tour will include places in the Grand Slam of Darts and Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship, as well as PDC ProTour Cards.
The PDC Unicorn Youth Tour has been introduced in 2011 to great success, with 15 tournament being staged across the UK and Europe for players aged from 14-21.
Each tournament is worth £2,000, with £600 to the winner, while there will also be a PDC Unicorn World Youth Championship worth £30,000 to be held later this year.
The early stages of the World Youth Championship, from the last 64 to the semi-finals, will be held on Friday November 4 in Crawley from 12pm, and the final will be played during the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship.
In addition, the following rewards will be on offer to players competing on the PDC Unicorn Youth Tour:
* 2011 PDC Unicorn Youth Tour Order of Merit winner will receive an invitation to compete in the Preliminary Round of the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship.
* The leading two players in the final 2011 PDC Unicorn Youth Tour Order of Merit who do not already have a Tour Card will receive a two-year Tour Card, plus entry fees paid.
* Invitation to 2011 Grand Slam of Darts for 2012 World Youth Championship finalists
* Invitation to 2011 Grand Slam of Darts for current World Youth Champion Arron Monk
* Invitation to 2012 Grand Slam of Darts for 2012 World Youth Champion
* 2012 World Youth Championship Finalists will receive a two-year PDC ProTour Card, plus entry fees paid. (Should one of these players have already won a Tour Card through Youth Tour OOM then no additional place will be offered)
PDC Chairman Barry Hearn said: "We have been delighted with the success of the first eight PDC Unicorn Youth Tour events.
"The response we've had from players has been phenomenal and I'm sure the confirmation of the rewards on offer will be a further incentive for them in the remaining events."
So far, the eight Youth Tour events have been won by seven different players, with Michael van Gerwen's two wins accompanied by victories for Adam Hunt, Shaun Griffiths, Ryan Harrington, Paul Barham, Ricky Evans and Joe Cullen.
Entries to the forthcoming PDC Unicorn Youth Tour events in Barnsley on June 11 and Nuland on June 18 are still being taken.
Entry to the UK-based events costs £25, via the PDC Head Office on 08712 501 180 during office hours from 9am-5pm from Monday-Friday.
Entries for the event in Nuland on Saturday June 18 will cost €25, with players based in the UK or Ireland entering through the PDC Head Office and other European-based players entering via www.pdc-europe.net.
The deadline for entering tournaments is 12pm on the Friday immediately before each event.
Should a player need to withdraw after entering a tournament, they can do this via the PDC Head Office on 08712 501 180.
Entries are open to players aged 14 and over, with an upper age limit of players needing to be aged 21 and under on January 3 2011 to be eligible to play in the PDC Unicorn Youth Tour events.
