Trio Seal World Championship Spots

SCOTT MACKENZIE, Christian Perez and Oliver Ferenc are the latest International Qualifiers for the Ladbrokes World Darts Championship.

Hong King-based MacKenzie, 39, has sealed a second successive World Championship place after defeating Royden Lam 4-3 in the final of the Greater China Qualifier.

Over 80 players from China and Hong Kong played in the tournament, with MacKenzie pulling through to win the final from 3-2 down with legs of 12 and 13 darts.

Perez will join MacKenzie in making a World Championship return after winning the Philippines Qualifier, having previously competed in the 2010 tournament, defeating Per Laursen in the preliminary round before losing to Robert Thornton.

Perez defeated Bobong Gabiana in the final, with last year's qualifier Juanito Gionson and Andy Villamor reaching the semi-finals at the Ambassador Hotel in Manila.

Players had competed in four regional qualifying events across the Philippines to win a place in the last 32, who played off for the spot in the World Championship in Sunday.

Meanwhile, Serbia's Oliver Ferenc has won the South-East Europe Qualifier, which was held in Sibenik, Croatia and featured players from Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Serbia and Bosnia.

Last year's qualifier Boris Krcmar was defeated by Sebastijan Pecjak 6-5 in the quarter-finals, with Pecjak then losing by the same scoreline to Ferenc in the semis.

Ferenc, who had defeated Dragan Martic in the quarter-finals, went on to overcome Zdravko Antunovic 6-5 in the final to win his first World Championship place and celebrate his 42nd birthday in style!

The Ladbrokes World Darts Championship will be held from December 15 2011-January 2 2012 at Alexandra Palace in London. For tickets, call 0844 81 8807 or visit www.seetickets.com/darts.
