DENNIS PRIESTLEY, James Wade, Mark Webster and Paul Nicholson head a group of PDC stars supporting the Movember charity this month.
The Movember campaign sees men grow a moustache throughout the month of November to raise vital funds to help change the face of men's health.
Last year in the UK, £11.7m was raised for male specific cancers - prostate and testicular cancer - amid a global total of £48.6m.
Two-time World Champion Priestley's support of the Movember charity is particularly person after the 61-year-old's successful battle with prostate cancer since 2007.
Priestley - who shaved off his trademark bristles on November 1 - has been joined by some top names in backing the Movember campaign this year, with James Wade, Paul Nicholson, Mark Webster and referee George Noble all growing moustaches to support the charity, which will be on show throughout the William Hill Grand Slam of Darts.
And Priestley admits that his willingness to address the initial symptoms should be a lesson to men who may be reticent to simply visit the doctor for what initially seemed like a minor complaint.
"I would say to anyone who is worried about their health or is feeling the kind of symptoms I did; don't dwell on it for one second," he urged.
"Go to the doctor, don't be frightened, because they're the experts and everyone I saw always made me feel relaxed and ran me through all the procedures and options open to me."
