ANDY HAMILTON is looking to claim his first win over Raymond van Barneveld since 2006 when they clash in the McCoy's Premier League Darts on Thursday.
The World Championship finalist has not taken victory over the Dutch ace since their first-ever meeting, in the World Matchplay Qualifiers back in 2006.
In that event, Hamilton denied PDC newcomer van Barneveld a place in the World Matchplay with his 5-3 triumph - before he went on to not only qualify for Blackpool but also reach the semi-finals on his Winter Gardens debut.
Hamilton has lost out to the five-time World Champion in over a dozen meetings since, including in successive years at the UK Open and also in the semi-finals of the 2009 World Grand Prix.
"The biggest game we've had was probably when I knocked him out in the 2006 World Matchplay qualifiers - and that's the last time i beat him!" said Hamilton.
"We've had some great games and some really close games that haven't gone my way, so hopefully it will go my way this time."
Hamilton has made a solid start to his debut Premier League season, picking up one win and a draw from his opening three matches, and is hoping to claim two more valuable points in his Play-Off push at the Westpoint Arena.
"I've got three points and I'm going to keep fighting for points every week," he said.
"I'm looking forward to playing Raymond in Exeter and I've got a lot of respect for him but I'm not worried about him - I think he should be worried about me."
