SEVEN further players won places in the Speedy Services UK Open at Saturday's Rileys Qualifiers.
The Rileys Qualifiers give 32 amateur players the chance to win places in next month's UK Open televised finals in Bolton through the knockouts being held in Rileys Darts Zones around the UK.
Saturday's qualifiers include Essex youngster Harry Miles, who defeated Lewis McGurn in the final of the Basildon knockout and now plays Speedy Qualifier Andy Melling in the preliminary round at Bolton.
Andy Roberts went all the way to a deciding leg against Ian Jones in the Rileys Wolverhampton event, and will play either Andrew Cornwall or John Bowles - who turned professional this year after being a UK Open Amateur Qualifier 12 months ago.
Stephen Bunting, a former Lakeside Championship and World Masters quarter-finalist, defeated Eddie Dootson in the final of the Bolton qualifier by taking out 148 to seal a 4-1 win - and he now plays Glen Durrant in the UK Open, with the potential of a clash with reigning champion James Wade in round two.
Marc Dewsbury qualified at Rileys Burton to set up a game with Stephen Hardy in the UK Open, Jason Wilson took victory in Leicester to set up a clash with Bernd Roith in Bolton and Lee Bryant won through in Taunton and now plays John Henderson next month.
The day's other qualifier was Tony Broughton, who came through the Brighton qualifier to earn himself a return to the UK Open against Tony Cooper in the preliminary round next month, having previously played in the last two years in Bolton.
