THE 2012 Championship League Darts will kick off on Tuesday September 25 as the world's top eight players compete in Group One of the internet-streamed tournament.
The £200,000 tournament will see 29 stars of the PDC battling it out across eight days of play in a bid to win spots in the big-money Winners Group on November 1, with a £10,000 first prize and places in the William Hill Grand Slam of Darts on offer.
With the groups formed in ranking order, next Tuesday's Group One will feature the world's current top eight players, headed by reigning Championship League Darts winner Phil Taylor, 2010 champion James Wade and World Champion Adrian Lewis.
Gary Anderson - last year's Group One winner - is also in the field, alongside Wes Newton, Andy Hamilton, Simon Whitlock and Terry Jenkins.
The players will face each other once in the round-robin league phase over the best of 11 legs, with prize money paid at £50 per leg won.
The top four players from the final league table will then progress to compete in the Play-Offs, where £100 per leg won is paid in the semi-finals and final, which are also played over the best of 11 legs.
All LIVEPDC.TV Subscribers will be able to watch live coverage from Championship League Darts, featuring play in the league stage simultaneously on two boards.
