Briones Claims Second DARTSLIVE Win

RONALD BRIONES picked up his second victory of the year in DARTSLIVE - THE WORLD as he claimed victory in Stage Four of the event in Seoul, Korea on July 13.

The Philippine star defeated Ray Carver 3-2 in the final of the event, with the decider going all the way to a deciding leg of Cricket, which Briones won with a 120-81 scoreline.

Briones had also been victorious in Hong Kong earlier this year before claiming victory in the event's first visit to Korea, with Stage Four being held at the Sheraton Grande in Seoul.

"I feel on top of the world," said Briones. "I'm so happy to have won in Seoul and am very lucky to have won a stage again."

Briones had also defeated fellow countryman Lourence Ilagan earlier in the event, and overcame Kei Usami in the quarter-finals, 2011 champion Paul Lim in the semi-finals and American left-hander Carver in the final.

"Hats off to Ronald, who played a great match," said Carver. "I didn't do quite enough today but we both played well.

"In the final leg of Cricket I missed my chances - I hit triple 19 with my first dart and I should have stayed on 19s, I wasted two darts on the 20 as I only hit singles."

DARTSLIVE - THE WORLD is the world's biggest soft-tip darts tournament, with eight Stages being held throughout the year before the top 100 ranked players travel to Hong Kong in December to compete in the Grand Final.

Stage Five will be held on August 25 in Shanghai before moving to Las Vegas on September 21 for Stage Six.
