Caven Opens Darts Academy

JAMIE CAVEN is the latest PDC star to support the future of darts with the launch of the Jamie Caven Darts Academy in Derby.

The move sees world number 22 Caven linking up with fellow player Steve Brown, who launched the Steve Brown Darts Academy (SBDA) in 2010 with the support of the PDC and Unicorn Darts.

Brown has already set up eight previous Academies, with Caven coming on board in partnership with the SBDA for 2014 to launch his own Academy, which opened on Wednesday at the Cueball Club in Derby.

"We have come a long way since 2010 and the Academy is in a healthy position," said Bristol ace Brown.

"Nothing pleases me more to see kids enjoying the sport I love and I am so happy to work with Jamie."

SBDA Director Darren Barson added: "It's been an absolute pleasure working with Jamie and his wife Debbie on this project.

"They really are keen to put something back into grassroots darts and we are very happy to assist. Jamie essentially will have his own academies, but will be embraced by the SBDA family."
