AN additional qualifying place has been made available for the Perth Darts Masters in August, while Warren Parry has been confirmed as the New Zealand Qualifier for the event.
The inaugural World Series of Darts event in Perth will be held at the Challenge Stadium from August 22-24, featuring 16 players as eight top PDC stars take on eight players from the Oceanic region.
With Adrian Lewis now not competing in the treble-header of World Series of darts events in Singapore, Perth and Sydney, Paul Nicholson has now moved from being a Wildcard player in the Perth Darts Masters to one of the eight PDC seeded stars.
That has opened up an additional qualifying place for the Perth Darts Masters, which will be awarded to the leading non-qualified player from the DPA Australian Grand Prix Order of Merit after the AGP double-header in Fremantle on Saturday August 16 and Sunday August 17.
The DPA Australian Grand Prix events in Fremantle will be preceded by the two Perth Darts Masters Qualifiers, each of which will produce two players for the World Series of Darts event.
Entry to the Perth Darts Masters Qualifiers will cost $25 per day per player and can be made through www.dartplayersaustralia.com. Play will commence at 9.30am on each day.
Three-time Oceanic Masters winner Warren Parry has been confirmed as the automatic qualifier from New Zealand, after topping the DPNZ rankings at the June 21 cut-off.
The eight Perth Darts Masters qualifiers will be drawn against eight PDC stars for the Perth Darts Masters' first round, which will take place on Friday August 22.
The quarter-finals will then be held on Saturday August 23, with the semi-finals and final seeing the event conclude on Sunday August 24.
