Final International Qualifiers Win Spots

THE final International Qualifiers for the William Hill World Darts Championship have been held, with Haruki Muramatsu, Robert Marijanovic, John Michael and Sascha Stein winning places at Alexandra Palace.

Muramatsu has qualified to compete in his fourth World Championship after coming through Monday's eight-man PDJ Qualifying Finals at the Ryogoku KFC Hall.

The 37-year-old edged our Masumi Chino 6-5 in the final, having also defeated Shin Higishida and Sho Okano in the latter stages, with former Japanese World Cup representative Sho Katsumi being a quarter-final loser.

Croatia's Robert Marijanovic has secured his second World Championship appearance after winning the Bulls Superleague Eastern Europe Play-Offs.

Marijanovic picked up victories over Osman Kijamet, Dietmar Burger and Nandor Bezzeg in the round-robin stage, edged out Michael Rasztovits 8-7 in the semi-finals and then overcame fellow Croatian Boris Krcmar 10-7 in the final.

Previously a qualifier for the 2013 World Championship, he has also represented his country in the PDC World Cup of Darts and competed on the PDC ProTour.

Young talent Max Hopp was the winner of the Bulls Superleague Germany Qualifier, but after securing his place at Alexandra Palace through the ProTour Order of Merit his spot goes to runner-up Sascha Stein.

Hopp was a 10-8 winner over Stein in the Superleague Germany final, having won two of his three group games before defeating Kevin Munch in the semi-finals, with Andree Welge also reaching the last four.

Greek ace John Michael defeated Italy's Marco Brentegani 6-4 in the final of the Southern Europe Qualifier to earn his Alexandra Palace debut.

A qualifier for the 2011 European Championship, he has also played in the World Masters and Lakeside Championship previously and defeated Daniel Giorgesi, Stefano Pellegrinet and Michel Furlani in the qualifier in Italy.

The final two places in the William Hill World Darts Championship will be confirmed at next Monday's PDPA Qualifier in Coventry, with the Cash Converters Players Championship Finals being the last ranking event for professionals to adjust their qualifying place this weekend.
