International Darts Open Draw/Schedule

MICHAEL VAN GERWEN will begin his challenge to win an amazing fifth successive PDC European Tour title against either William O'Connor or Mike De Decker, with the draw and schedule of play for the International Darts Open now available.

The £115,000 tournament is being held at the Sachsenarena in Riesa, Germany frmo June 19-21, as 48 players do battle in the fifth European Tour event of 2015.

So far, van Gerwen has been dominant with an incredible four wins from as many tournaments, most recently at the Dutch Darts Masters in Venray a fortnight ago.

The world number one will begin his bid to claim a fifth straight victory in Saturday's second round in Riesa when he faces the winner of Friday's first round game between Ireland's William O'Connor or European Qualifier Mike De Decker, the emerging youngster from Belgium.

Both the European Qualifier and Host Nation Qualifier took place on Thursday night, providing the final 12 players for the tournament, with the first round split across two sessions on Friday and featuring the 32 qualifiers, before the 16 seeded players enter in round two.

Friday's first round games will feature an intriguing clash between former Lakeside Champion Mark Webster and 2013 Gibraltar Darts Trophy runner-up Jamie Lewis - only a week after the pair teamed up to represent Wales in the bwin World Cup of Darts.

Another former Lakeside Champion, Stephen Bunting, has drawn qualifier Jamie Robinson, while April's German Darts Masters runner-up John Henderson will kick off the tournament against Matt Clark.

Canada's Ken MacNeil will take on Northern Ireland's Daryl Gurney, English pair Matthew Edgar and Darren Webster also face off and 2015 PDC newcomers Eddie Dootson and Jamie Wilson also clash.

German teenager Max Hopp landed a nine-dart finish as he progressed through the Host Nation Qualifier to set up a first round meeting with Kevin McDine.

Jyhan Artut won through to a tie with Jonny Clayton and Daniel Zygla will take on Mark Barilli, while the fourth German qualifier, Tomas Seyler, takes on Spain's Antonio Alcinas, who was one of the eight European Qualifiers.

His fellow Spaniard Cristo Reyes will continue his emergence after winning through to take on Dean Winstanley, having hit two nine-darters himself since turning professional in January.

Christian Kist and Robert Marijanovic will meet in the first round after they qualified on Thursday, while Austrian ace Mensur Suljovic won through to take on Mark Walsh.

Rowby-John Rodriguez will take on England's Adam Hunt in a clash between two top young talents, after the Austrian overcame his brother Roxy-James as he went on to qualify in Riesa.

Belgian youngster Mike De Decker will play Ireland's William O'Connor - with the winner going on to face Michael van Gerwen - while emerging Dutchman Jeffrey de Zwaan meets Northern Ireland's Mickey Mansell.
