Unicorn's Next Generation Scheme Launched

DARTS players aged 16-23 have the chance to become a part of Team Unicorn and receive sponsorship to play on the PDC circuit in 2017 through an exciting new scheme searching for Unicorn's Next Generation.

After launching the 'Next Generation' dartboard earlier in 2016 when the Unicorn Eclipse HD2 was introduced in PDC tournaments, Unicorn Darts have now turned their attention to finding the stars of the future on the oche.

Unicorn’s Next Generation is encouraging budding players to upload a video of up to two minutes of themselves talking about why they wish to become a darts professional, explaining why they love darts and showing their throw.

A shortlist will then be drawn up, with a series of players receiving a Unicorn Masterclass with a top player, before three lucky winners will be announced at the William Hill World Darts Championship in December, receiving sponsorship from Unicorn to enter the 2017 PDC Qualifying School and to compete on the PDC circuit next year.

"We have always been committed to the future stars of darts, notably through our sponsorship of the PDC Unicorn World Youth Championship, Development Tour and Challenge Tour, but this is an exciting new scheme for us," said Unicorn Darts Managing Director Edward Lowy.

"We're opening up Unicorn's Next Generation search to any player aged 16-23 who wants to become a professional. For the lucky three players who'll receive sponsorship for next year, this is a fantastic opportunity to join the PDC circuit with our backing."

Unicorn's commitment would include entry fees to compete in the 2017 PDC Qualifying School as well as PDC ProTour, Challenge Tour and Development Tour events next year.

To enter, budding players are encouraged to upload a video to www.unicorndarts-nextgeneration.com of up to two minutes showing you throwing and talking about why you want to become part of Unicorn’s Next Generation.
