BROTHERS Steve and Tony West will face off in the HappyBet German Darts Championship on Friday when the year's final European Tour event begins in Hildesheim.
Younger brother Steve won through the UK Qualifier to secure his place in the German Darts Championship, and has since created headlines with his brilliant Unibet World Grand Prix win over 11-time winner Phil Taylor.
His Dutch-based brother Tony, a former World Masters champion, came through the European Qualifier to secure his place in a second successive European Tour event, having been a second round loser in the European Darts Grand Prix last month.
The opening day in Hildesheim will also see Australia's Kyle Anderson meet emerging Austrian Rowby-John Rodriguez, while former European Tour winner Mervyn King faces Mark Webster.
Kevin Painter and Robbie Green face Dutch opposition in Yordi Meeuwisse and Christian Kist respectively, while former UK Open finalist Mark Walsh plays Spain's Cristo Reyes.
Former Austrian Darts Open winner Vincent van der Voort takes on Peter Hudson as he begins his bid to secure a Unibet European Championship spot - with the top 32 from the European Tour Order of Merit following this event qualifying to compete in Hasselt next month.
Hungary's Janos Vegso takes on Darren Johnson, while Andy Smith, Eddie Dootson, Steve Hine and Ron Meulenkamp will all face German opposition, with Stefan Stoyke, Mike Holz, Robert Allenstein and Marko Puls coming through Thursday night's Host Nation Qualifiers.
The 16 seeded players enter the action in Saturday's second round, with the tournament concluding on Sunday with the third round in the afternoon session and the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final in the evening session.
Top seed Michael van Gerwen has won six of the previous nine tournaments this year, with Mensur Suljovic also claiming victory so far in 2016 - both of the other winners, Phil Taylor and James Wade, have not entered.
Of other other seeded players, Peter Wright, Dave Chisnall, Kim Huybrechts, Michael Smith and Daryl Gurney have all reached European Tour finals this year.
