JDC Set For Finals Weekend

THE 2016 Junior Darts Corporation season heads towards its conclusion with a huge weekend of action in Essex on December 3-4.

The JDC's Modus UK Tour has proven a huge success throughout this year, with Owen Maiden being the winner of November's Event Five in Bristol.

Maiden dropped only two legs on his way to the final, where he defeated Adam Howard 5-1 to take the title and secure his place in the JDC Grand Final this weekend.

The "Super Saturday" at the Crowne Plaza Resort in Essex will see Event Six followed by the early rounds of the JDC Grand Final, which features the six event winners, Junior European Championship winner Jim Moston and a series of other qualifiers from the JDC Order of Merit and JDC Academy Order of Merit.

Play in Essex will be down to the final, which will then take place on stage at Alexandra Palace in London during the William Hill World Darts Championship.

The JDC's weekend will conclude with the JDC Q School, which will see three players win a "scholarship" to compete on the PDC Unicorn Development Tour in 2017, supported by the PDPA.

"There is so much to play for in Essex," said JDC Chairman Steve Brown. "It's going to be a high quality last weekend, both in Event Six, our Grand Final and in the JDC Q School.

"Our year has been built around the 'Pathway To The Palace' for the final of our JDC Grand Final, and we can't wait for both the early stages this weekend in Essex and the final itself later this month."
