TED EVETTS secured his first Alexandra Palace victory with a 3-0 triumph over Simon Stevenson in round one of the 2018/19 William Hill World Darts Championship.
Stevenson missed two darts to take the opening set before Evetts pinned a crucial double eight with his last dart in hand to go 1-0 up.
Evetts' timing once again proved pivotal in set two as Stevenson misses a dart for the set and Evetts once again took full advantage, pinning tops with his last dart in hand for the first break of the match to double his lead in sets.
The Southam thrower took the final set 3-1 to wrap up a whitewash win and book his place in the final 64 where he will take on two-time World Champion Adrian Lewis.
