CRISTO REYES battled back from two sets down to defeat Rowby-John Rodriguez 3-2 in the second round of the 2018/19 William Hill World Darts Championship.
Rodriguez, who won his first game on the Alexandra Palace stage at the fourth attempt against Ricky Evans in round one, came from 2-0 down to take the opening set 3-2.
Set two also went to a last leg decider and was won by the young Austrian to double his lead, before Reyes took set three without losing a leg to halve the deficit.
The Spaniard won set four 3-2 to take the match to a deciding set, and, after Rodriguez missed four darts at double, Reyes took out 108 to break throw in the opening leg of the decider.
He then pressed home the advantage by taking landing a 104 checkout, his fourth ton-plus finish of the match, to double his lead and then wrapped up victory in the next leg to set up a round three tie with reigning champion Rob Cross.
