RYAN SEARLE claimed a shock 3-1 win over seventh seed Mensur Suljovic in the second round of the 2018/19 William Hill World Darts Championship.
Suljovic, who struck ten 180s in the contest, opened with an 11-dart leg on his way to taking the opening set 3-1.
ProTour finalist Searle, playing in his first World Championship, responded with a 120 finish on his way to winning the second set 3-1 to level the contest, before winning three consecutive legs to claim the third set and a 2-1 lead.
World Matchplay finalist Suljovic continued to apply the pressure, but Searle landed a magnificent 118 finish to claim a memorable victory, and he will now take on William O'Connor in round three.
