NATHAN ASPINALL produced a sensational comeback victory to send Gerwyn Price crashing out of the William Hill World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace.
27-year-old Aspinall, who won his first ProTour title in September, came back from the brink of defeat to win 3-2 after surviving a match dart at two sets down.
Aspinall took out 96 in the first leg but the opening set went Price's way as the Welshman finished 97 to take it 3-2.
A 124 checkout helped Price win the second set 3-2 but he missed a dart at the bullseye for victory in the deciding leg in set three - and could only watched as Aspinall cleaned up a crucial 91 checkout to save the match.
Finishes of 92 and 140 saw the emerging Lancashire talent win set four 3-1, before racing through the final set 3-0 for an incredible win.
