Irish starlet O'Hara wins JDC European Open

Teenage talent Aidan O'Hara won the JDC European Open title following a weekend of events staged in Dublin.

The Junior Darts Corporation held four events on July 29-30 at the Fettercairn Community Centre in Dublin, with a combined ranking giving the overall European Open champion.

Tipperary's O'Hara, 15, won Event 1 and Event 4 and was also a semi-finalist in Event 3 as he secured top spot on the final standings with 19 points.

O'Hara also posted the weekend's highest match average, of 100.20, in Event 1 during a 3-0 victory over David Flynn in the last 32.

Irish duo Sean McKeon, a two-time finalist, and James Morris - the Event 2 winner - finished in joint second place on the rankings with 15 points.

Event 3 winner Jack Nankervis - who won the 2023 JDC Foundation Tour - was joined by Luke Dooley on ten points behind the top three.

"In only our second European Open outside of the UK, the entry numbers were fantastic and the standard matched the occasion," said JDC Director of Operations Darren Barson.

"It was a pleasure to be at the home of JDC Ireland and the home of the Hornets Darts Academy, who put on an amazing event."
