Luke Littler will take on Almos Kovacs in the 2023 Holiday Inn Express Junior World Darts Championship final at Alexandra Palace later this month.
The pair came through a 138-player field at the Europa Point Stadium in Gibraltar to set up a showdown in the capital on Sunday December 17, as Littler bids to retain the title he claimed in such emphatic style last year.
Littler - who will make his Paddy Power World Darts Championship debut later this month - has enjoyed a week to remember, after being crowned as Winmau World Youth Champion in Minehead last Sunday.
The 16-year-old averaged 102 and crashed in seven 180s to defeat Dutch star Gian van Veen 6-4 in a high-quality final, and he continued his winning run with back-to-back victories in the Winmau Junior Darts Open and MVG Masters in Gibraltar.
Littler whitewashed Harry Gregory to win last year's JDC World Championship, and he kicked off his title defence with four consecutive victories in the round-robin phase.
After overcoming Ireland's Aiden O'Hara in the last 64, Littler then won 12 straight legs to storm through to the semi-finals, averaging 107 and 103 in victories over Khurelkhuu Tergel and Daniel Stephenson respectively.
Littler continued his charge with a 5-2 success against Archie Self in the semi-finals, converting 117 and 136 checkouts and landing a brace of 12-darters to cap off a classy display.
Meanwhile, Hungarian youngster Kovacs won through deciding-leg ties against Ryan Branley, Alfie Busby and Daan Toxopeus to move through to the semi-finals, recovering from 3-1 down to deny Toxopeus in the last eight.
The 17-year-old then produced a clinical display to dispatch Mason Teese 5-2 in the semi-finals, taking out 52, 60, 76 and 110 combinations to book his ticket to Ally Pally.
Kovacs will be too old to compete in next year's showpiece, therefore his final match as a JDC player will give him an opportunity to lift a world title on the sport's biggest stage.
However, Littler is eyeing his own slice of history as he aims to become the first player to win multiple JDC World Championship titles before joining the ProTour circuit, having secured a PDC Tour Card via the Winmau Development Tour.
