The field for next month's Australian Darts Masters has been finalised, with newly crowned World Matchplay champion Luke Humphries and Premier League winner Luke Littler set to make their debuts Down Under.
The 2024 Australian Darts Masters will take place at the WIN Entertainment Centre on August 9-10, as some of the sport's biggest names compete for the coveted World Series of Darts title.
World Champion Humphries will headline the 16-player field in Wollongong, having followed up his debut success at last month's World Cup of Darts by lifting his maiden World Matchplay title at the Winter Gardens.
Humphries will be one of two PDC representatives making their debut on Australian soil, with teenage sensation Littler also breaking new ground after taking the darting world by storm over the last nine months.
Rob Cross - the winner in Wollongong back in 2023 - will be hoping to maintain his remarkable consistency on the World Series circuit, having followed up his US Darts Masters triumph in June by reaching back-to-back finals in Copenhagen and Poland.
Australian number one Damon Heta will aim to take centre stage on home soil, and the world number nine will be joined in Wollongong by former World Champions Michael Smith, Gerwyn Price and Peter Wright.
Dimitri Van den Bergh completes the list of PDC representatives, with the UK Open champion poised to make his third consecutive World Series of Darts appearance in Australia.
Australian icon Simon Whitlock - a World Cup winner alongside Heta in 2022 - heads up the eight Oceanic representatives, with New Zealand's number one Haupai Puha also set to star.
Brenton Lloyd, Rob Modra and Joe Comito will make their big stage returns in 2024 after qualifying from the DartPlayers Australia circuit, while debutant Stuart Coburn replaces Brody Klinge, who has withdrawn for family reasons.
John Hurring won through the DartPlayers New Zealand Qualifier earlier this month to confirm his qualification, while DPA ProTour Order of Merit leader Jeremy Fagg completes the 16-player line-up as the top-ranked non-qualified player.
Friday’s first round will see the eight PDC superstars take on their Oceanic counterparts for a place in Finals Day, before the tournament concludes with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final on Saturday August 10.
