An ecstatic Dave Chisnall claimed he will not stop until he wins a major television title, after his victory in the inaugural Flanders Darts Trophy in Antwerp on Sunday.

Chisnall marked his 100th European Tour appearance with victory in Belgium, beating Ricardo Pietreczko 8-6 in a thrilling contest to double his 2024 European Tour title tally.

Chisnall is now one of only four players to win eight titles on the European Tour, with six of them coming within the last two years.

The world number six was incredible throughout, dismantling names such as Chris Dobey, Peter Wright and Gabriel Clemens on his way to victory, recording a tournament average of 99.35 to pocket the £30,000 top prize.

“What a great crowd these guys are, keeping up with us and that’s the main reason we want to play darts so thank you to everyone,” said Chisnall.

Chisnall also praised Ricardo Pietreczko throughout his post-match interview, after the German progressed to his second European Tour final.

“He beat the best player in the semi-finals, Luke Humphries, that’s a great achievement in itself,” continued Chisnall.

“But there has to be one winner, and that’s me.”

The 43-year-old landed three 180’s over the course of the match, checking out 115 along the way to cap off a brilliant display across the weekend’s play.

“It’s been amazing,” added Chisnall, reflecting on Antwerp being his 100th European Tour appearance.

“I’ve had a great tournament this week, I feel like I got lucky against Peter [Wright], but after that I thought I deserved to win this tournament.

“When I got backstage, my manager said it was my 100th European Tour, and to go and win it. I said I would try, and I did!

“I’ve had some tough games this weekend, and I’m just happy I got over the line in that final.”

Speaking about the upcoming World Grand Prix and European Championships in Dortmund, Chisnall insisted: “I will win one of them.”

“I’m not going to stop until I win one, every day is different.

“I’m going for that first major, and it’s definitely going to come.”
