Anderson Loving World Series Challenge

WORLD CHAMPION Gary Anderson admits that he is loving being a part of the PDC's World Series of Darts, as he prepares for the TABtouch Perth Darts Masters.

The Scottish star is competing on the World Series of Darts circuit for the first time this year, following his brilliant renaissance over the past 18 months.

The World Champion and Premier League champion has so far competed in both the Dubai Duty Free Darts Masters and Zipang Casino Japan Darts Masters - reaching the semi-finals of both events before losing out to Phil Taylor.

However, as he makes his return to Perth for this weekend's event, having previously competed in the Australian city a decade ago in the WDF World Cup, Anderson has spoken of his enjoyment of being involved.

"It's my first time doing the World Series and it's been a great experience, I've loved every minute so far," said the Scot.

"The crowds in Japan were absolutely fantastic. We didn't know what to expect but they turned up and loved it, which was good. The Japanese players played extremely well, and all of us players enjoyed it.

"I went to Australia many years ago, when I was in the BDO but I've seen two countries that I've never been to before so far and it will be the same when we go to New Zealand, and they'd be great places to go on holiday if we ever get the time."

Anderson will be competing in the TABtouch Perth Darts Masters from August 14-16 before travelling across Australia for the Sydney Darts Masters from August 20-22, with the inaugural Auckland Darts Masters completing the treble-header in New Zealand from August 28-30.

The TABtouch Perth Darts Masters will be held from Friday August 14-Sunday August 16 at the HBF Stadium in Perth. For tickets, visit www.downunderevents.com.au.
