Final Day For World Matchplay Race

THE race for places in the StanJames.com World Matchplay will conclude at Tuesday's Las Vegas Players Championship.

The event is the last before the cut-off for qualifying for the World Matchplay, which will be held from July 17-25 in Blackpool.

The PDC's top 16 following the New Tropicana World Series of Darts Festival in Las Vegas will qualify by right for the World Matchplay.

They will be joined by the best 16 non-qualified players from the Players Championship Order of Merit in the World Matchplay.

In a dramatic twist, Gary Anderson's win in Monday's Players Championship saw him jump above Paul Nicholson into the top 16 of the PDC Order of Merit.

However, Nicholson would currently not qualify for the World Matchplay through the Players Championship Order of Merit - with Nigel Heydon now occupying the 16th qualifying place, £200 ahead of Nicholson and £300 clear of Monday's semi-finalist Chris Thompson.

The current standings in the places which could be affected by Tuesday's event are:
