Happy New Year!

GARY ANDERSON has sent New Year's wishes to darts fans worldwide as the sport moves into 2016 with the completion of the WIlliam Hill World Darts Championship.

After Jelle Klaasen threw the final competitive dart of 2015 as he defeated Phil Taylor in an epic third round contest on Wednesday night, the tournament enjoyed a one-day break on New Year's Eve.

The New Year's Day double session will see the last eight players return to Alexandra Palace to continue their quest for darts' biggest title.

Reigning World Champion Anderson, pictured above with a New Year's message to fans, will take on multiple major winner James Wade in one of the four quarter-finals on Friday.

Klaasen's meeting with Alexandra Palace debutant Alan Norris opens the quarter-finals, before the evening session sees five-time World Champion Raymond van Barneveld meet former World Youth Champion Michael Smith and two-time World Champion Adrian Lewis up against 2014 finalist Peter Wright.

The William Hill World Darts Championship continues on Saturday with the semi-finals before concluding with the final on Sunday at London's Alexandra Palace.

The action will be screened live on the dedicated Sky Sports Darts channel, worldwide through the PDC's international broadcast partners and online through www.LIVEPDC.TV for International Pass Subscribers.

The William Hill World Darts Championship's final stages will kick off the biggest ever year on the PDC circuit, with £10 million in prize money up for grabs from the PDC Unicorn Development and Challenge Tour levels through the ProTour and European Tour up to the major televised events.

In addition, the dates and venues for the 2016 World Series of Darts events across the globe will be announced in due course/
