Jenkins' Delight At Play-Off Spot

TERRY JENKINS is hoping to show his true colours over the next fortnight, after qualifying for the Holsten Premier League Darts play-offs.

Jenkins has enjoyed a hugely successful first campaign in the Premier League, with a win over Adrian Lewis in Blackburn last Thursday ensuring he will make the top four.

A six-game unbeaten run in the middle of the tournament, including an 8-1 win over Lewis in Blackpool, has largely aided Jenkins' cause following a nervy start.

After adapting to bigger stages and crowds that he has been used to, Jenkins is now looking to finish the league campaign of the event with a flourish against Colin Lloyd and Peter Manley.

"I'm really delighted," said Jenkins, who meets Lloyd at Alexandra Palace on Thursday.

"I hope I can settle down now, I've done the hard work.

"I was ill before last week's game and hadn't practiced all week, so I didn't know how I would perform against Adrian.

"I was determined and I think the two big finishes did some damage, 102 and 121, but I was concentrating so much and thinking of every shot.

"Now there's less pressure on me and hopefully I can relax a bit and play some better darts."

Away from the Premier League, Jenkins has been a star performer on the PDC Pro Tour, capping his recent form by taking the Antwerp Darts Trophy and non-ranked Antwerp Open title in Belgium recently.

It was the third successive year he has been the champion in Antwerp, and he admitted: "I like the set-up.

"It's a big room and there is plenty of space, there's a good atmosphere but also a chance to get away from the crowd in the players room to concentrate.

"I enjoy it out there and I was really confident going into the events."
