Lewis Sets Sights On Play-Offs

ADRIAN LEWIS has set his sights on a return to the Betway Premier League Play-Offs by showing his "true colours" in the second half of the season.

The two-time World Champion sits fourth in the Premier League table going into Thursday's Judgement Night in Cardiff, where he faces elimination-threatened Robert Thornton at the Motorpoint Arena.

Having picked up five victories so far this season the Stoke ace has put himself in contention near the top of the table and is now aiming to secure a Play-Off place for only the third time in nine Premier League campaigns.

The 2011 Premier League runner-up has, though, rejected claims that his unpredictable form could cost him in the battle for semi-final places.

"Everybody's saying I'm inconsistent, but if you look at the results I've only lost to the top three in the world, Michael van Gerwen, Gary Anderson and Phil Taylor," said Lewis.

"I'm fourth in the table and I haven't lost to anybody below me. I played alright against Michael van Gerwen and maybe I deserved a draw there, but against Phil I was awful. Apart from that my form's pretty good.

"Hopefully in the second half of the season I'll show my true colours and come through. My scoring's been half-decent all the way through the league but I've missed doubles at times and had some silly shots, but last week I finished well.

"I'm looking forward to making that top four and then doing some damage in the semis and final.

"I've got to improve my scoring if I want to lift the trophy at the end of the tournament. Do I think I can beat these players? Yes I do. I think that if I turn up I've got a great chance."
