COLIN OSBORNE has adopted a fresh start in 2011 - changing his nickname to 'Ozzy',
The Derby-based world number 15 had been known as 'The Wizard' since turning professional in 2005 during his rise into the world's elite.
However, the emergence of Simon Whitlock during 2010 saw a pair of Wizards on the PDC circuit, as the Australian followed up his Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship final appearance by bounding up the PDC Order of Merit.
Osborne has now reverted to his childhood nickname of 'Ozzy', and will make his first appearance under the moniker at the Players Championship Finals in Doncaster next month.
Osborne will take on Denis Ovens in the opening game of the Players Championship Finals on Thursday February 3 at the Doncaster Dome.
Osborne also recently got the chance to lift the Barclays Premier League trophy, getting his hands on the silverware ahead of his last 16 clash with Raymond van Barneveld at the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship.
"It was great to get the chance to hold the Barclays Premier League trophy," said Osborne.
"I've won a few trophies in my time but this was the biggest I've ever lifted - and it was pretty heavy too!"
Tickets for the Players Championship Finals are on sale now and priced at £20 and £25 through 01302 370777.
