FORMER World Championship qualifier David Platt will compete on the DPA circuit after emigrating to Australia.
Platt moved to Perth this summer, and has since dropped from the world's top 100 players as a result of his absence from the PDC circuit.
However, he has confirmed that he will compete in DartPlayers Australia events in future, beginning at the Oceanic Masters later in October.
"I am looking forward to mixing it with Australia's and New Zealand's best," said Platt.
"Living on the west coast of Australia in the most remote city in the world does put certain limitations or complications to compete on the DPA circuit, but I will give it my best.
"Having come from competing on the PDC circuit since 2003 and playing almost every weekend, to what I am experiencing at the moment is somewhat of a big turnaround for me.
"I had my own construction company in the UK and was doing 60 hours every week and never asserted myself to the darts like I should have.
"Let's see if i can do something about it over here on the DPA circuit now I haven't got that pressure!"
