Rotterdam Sell-Out For Betway Premier League!

THE Betway Premier League's first visit to the Netherlands has been given a huge thumbs-up by darts fans after all 8,000 tickets sold out within an hour of going on General Sale on Monday.

Rotterdam's Ahoy Arena will play host to the final league night of the 2016 Betway Premier League on Thursday May 12, as eight players conclude their challenge to win Play-Off places.

Tickets went on Priority Sale to LIVEPDC.TV Annual Subscribers last Wednesday before going on General Sale on Monday - and received an incredible response from fans across Europe.

All 8,000 tickets were sold out inside an hour of going on General Sale, ensuring a capacity crowd for the event's Dutch debut.

"The Betway Premier League has enjoyed record demand for tickets during both the Priority Sales period and today in the General Sale, but this is fantastic news that the Ahoy Arena has already sold out," said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn.

"The growth of darts in the Netherlands in recent years has led to the move to take a Betway Premier League night across to Rotterdam, and these incredible sales fully justify that decision.

"This shows the passion which Dutch fans have for top-class darts, and we can't wait to take the world's top players to the Ahoy Arena next May for what promises to be an unforgettable occasion."

Peter van der Veer, managing director of Ahoy Rotterdam, said: "We are thrilled that the Betway Premier League in the Ahoy Arena has sold out so quickly - it shows how big darts really is in the Netherlands.

"We are looking forward to May 2016; that first 180 or the first nine-darter in the Ahoy Arena will be magical, an experience people will never forget, and we at the Ahoy Arena will do all we can to make this event a great success."

Alongside the sold-out Ahoy Arena, many other Betway Premier League venues have enjoyed record demand for tickets.

The 2016 Betway Premier League season will kick off on Thursday February 4 in Leeds and travels across the UK and Ireland throughout the four-month season.

The opening nine weeks see the ten players face each other once before the bottom two players are eliminated on Judgement Night, with the remaining stars then facing off once more before the top four progress to the Play-Offs in London on May 19.
