PHIL TAYLOR has been shortlisted for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.
The 15-time World Champion has been announced on the ten-person shortlist for the prestigious award, which will be presented on December 19.
Taylor will join his fellow nominees, including jockey AP McCoy, golfers Lee Westwood and Graeme McDowell and Winter Olympic gold medallist Amy Williams, at the LG Arena in Birmingham.
The BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards ceremony will be screened live on BBC One on Sunday December 19, with the nominees being put to a public vote on the night of the live show.
Taylor began 2010 by winning his 15th World Championship title, a feat unsurpassed in the sport's history, while he also became the first player to hit two nine-dart finishes in one game during the Premier League Darts final in May.
