Thanawat Earns World Championship Spot

THAILAND will be represented at the William Hill World Darts Championship for the first time in December after Thanawat Gaweenuntawong won the South-East Asia Qualifier.

The South-East Asia Qualifier was held in Malaysia, with Thanawat defeating Tengku Hadzali Shah in the final.

The 48-year-old from Bangkok has previously competed twice for Thailand in the PDC World Cup of Darts, but his success means that he will now compete in the world's biggest tournament for the first time at Alexandra Palace.

Thanawat joins New Zealand's Rob Szabo and America's Darin Young as the early International Qualifiers for the World Championship, with further events being held worldwide in the coming months.
